Dell leads Allen to shutout victory over Fort Worth

Aaron Dell recorded a shutout against the Fort Worth Brahmas as the Allen Americans picked up a 4-0 win.

Allen was led by Jason Deitsch, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Deitsch scored 10:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Drew Daniels assisted on the tally.

The Americans put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fort Worth to score on any of its four power plays. Allen's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Brahmas. The Americans average 2.7 goals allowed per game. By firing 27 shots on goal, Allen exceeded the 20.7 shots it averages per game this year.

Allen also got a goal from Chris Doyle as well. More assists for Allen came via Tyler Ludwig, Kale Kerbashian, Jamie Schaafsma, and Jarret Lukin, who contributed one a piece.

Fort Worth was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Brahmas surpassed its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Fort Worth excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Brahmas could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Fort Worth averages 3.0 goals per game. The Brahmas put 26 shots on net during the contest, more than the 18.1 they average per game.

Fort Worth was led by John Snowden, who took five shots.

Aaron Dell made 26 saves for the Americans on 26 shots. Allen ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Kristofer Westblom took the loss and made 13 saves before being replaced by Brad Fogal who made 10 saves.
