Denver rolls over Wichita, 6-2

The Denver Cutthroats were firing on all cylinders against the Wichita Thunder, and when the final buzzer sounded Cutthroats emerged with a 6-2 win.

Denver found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Cutthroats average 2.9 goals per game.

Denver was led by Troy Schwab, who had one goal and three assists. Schwab scored 11:20 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Denver. Brad Smyth picked up the assist. Denver also got points from Smyth, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Mikael Bedard also scored for Denver. In addition, Denver received assists from Luke Fulghum, who had three and Sean Zimmerman, Gabe Gauthier, and Ben Wilson, who each chipped in one.

Wichita was helped by RG Flath, who tallied one goal and one assist. Flath scored 7:13 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Denver. Chad Painchaud provided the assist. Wichita additionally got points from David Inman, who also finished with one goal and one assist.

Michael Dilorenzo rejected 24 shots on goal for the Cutthroats. Denver incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Thunder's starting goalie, Torrie Jung, made 10 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Grant Rollheiser, who stopped eight shots. Wichita incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
