Wichita falls to Rapid City in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Rapid City pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Wichita Thunder on a clutch goal by Damian Surma.

Rapid City was led by goalie Tim Boron, who finished with 48 saves while allowing one goal. Boron certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.42 entering the contest.

Rapid City was led by Surma, who had one goal and one assist. Surma scored 3:08 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Jesse Schultz provided the assist.

Rapid City also got points from Schultz, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Riley Weselowski and Jared Brown, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Thunder put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Rapid City was unable to stop Wichita from sending pucks towards the net, and the Thunder eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Wichita was led by RG Flath, who scored the team's only goal. Flath scored on the power play 12:21 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wichita. The Thunder had gained a power play chance when Surma was whistled for hooking. Matt Summers picked up the assist.

Rapid City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wichita's Torrie Jung stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Thunder incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
