Fort Worth outlasts Rapid City, 1-0

The Fort Worth Brahmas beat Rapid City 1-0 in a game that featured tenacious defense, solid goalkeeping and a winning score from Adam Hogg.

Ross Rouleau assisted on the winning goal.

Fort Worth was sparked by Hogg, who had one goal. Hogg scored 36 seconds into the third period to make the score 1-0 Fort Worth. Rouleau provided the assist.

The Brahmas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Rapid City power plays. Fort Worth was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Brahmas allow 2.9 goals per game. The 25 shots that Fort Worth put on net surpassed the Brahmas' average of 22.5 shots per game this season.

Rapid City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Rapid City was held below its usual level of production. Rapid City averages 2.4 goals per game. Rapid City relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Rusty Masters, Jesse Schultz and Jared Brown took 12 of the team's 23 shots.

Kristofer Westblom recorded 23 saves for Fort Worth. The Brahmas ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Danny Battochio rejected 24 shots on goal for Rapid City. Rapid City ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
