Chad Nehring had four goals and one assist to lead the Arizona Sundogs to an 8-2 victory over the Bloomington Blaze. Nehring got on the scoresheet 7:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:12 into the first, at 19:37 into the first, and at 3:33 into the second.Arizona bested its season scoring average. The Sundogs have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Arizona put 49 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.2 it averages per game. Arizona also got points from Matt Tassone, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Derek LeBlanc, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Arizona also got a goal from Jeff Kyrzakos as well. In addition, Arizona received assists from Johan Ryd, who had two, Adam Smyth, Matt McCready, and Jason Morgan, who contributed one a piece, and Jake Hauswirth and Chad Langlais, who each chipped in three. Bloomington forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up four minors and three majors for 23 minutes in penalty time. Bloomington relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as David Gilbert, Tyler Gron and Jon Booras took 15 of the team's 29 shots. More assists for Bloomington came via Michael Trebish and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece. David Brown made 27 saves for the Sundogs on 29 shots. Arizona totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and three majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Dan Dunn made 27 saves before being replaced by Pier-Olivier Pelletier, who took the loss and made 14 saves. The Blaze registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
