Bloomington beats Rapid City 4-0 as Festa gains shutout

Gerry Festa was superb between the pipes for the Bloomington Blaze, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over Rapid City.

Bloomington was paced by Jared Walker, who finished with one goal. Walker scored on the power play 3:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. The Blaze had gotten the advantage when Rapid City's Justin Sawyer was sent off for interference. Tyler Gron picked up the assist.

Bloomington stifled Rapid City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Bloomington also got a goal from Nicolas Rioux as well. More assists for Bloomington came via Jesse Dudas, who had two and Steve Makway, Travis Granbois, and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece.

Rapid City could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Rapid City averages 2.5 goals per game. Rapid City's defensemen bolstered Rapid City's offensive attack, as they bombarded Festa with 19 shots. The 34 shots that Rapid City put on net surpassed Rapid City's average of 23.9 shots per game this season.

Rapid City was led by Jordan Behler, who took six shots.

The Blaze's Festa stopped 34 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Bloomington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Danny Battochio took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by Neil Conway who made 11 saves. Rapid City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
