Arizona beats Fort Worth 4-0 as Brown gains shutout

David Brown recorded a shutout against the Fort Worth Brahmas as the Arizona Sundogs picked up a 4-0 win.

Arizona was paced by Jake Hauswirth, who racked up one goal. Hauswirth scored 3:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Jason Morgan assisted on the tally.

The Sundogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Fort Worth power plays. Arizona was below its usual level of shot production, taking 22 shots compared to the 28.0 the Sundogs average. Arizona's defensive play was more effective than usual against Fort Worth. The Sundogs allow 2.6 goals per game. Arizona relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 12 shots.

Arizona also got a goal from Kyle Schussler as well. Other players who recorded assists for Arizona were David Schlemko and Kyle Chipchura, who each chipped in one and Kyle Hood and Chad Nehring, who contributed two a piece.

The Brahmas were led by Brendon Hodge, who took six shots.

Brown recorded 29 saves for the Sundogs. Arizona totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Brad Fogal made 18 saves for Fort Worth on 22 shots. The Brahmas ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
