Allen had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over the Texas Brahmas. The win gave Allen a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Allen was led by Jim McKenzie, who registered one goal and one assist. McKenzie scored 8:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Jarret Lukin picked up the assist. Allen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Allen relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Bruce Graham, Colton Yellow Horn and McKenzie took 12 of the team's 23 shots. Allen additionally got points from Graham, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Brian McMillin also scored for Allen. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Mike Berube, who had two and Jason Deitsch and Ben Wilson, who contributed one a piece. The defense for Texas played an important role offensively, racking up 12 shots on goal. The Brahmas were led by Jim Burichin, who took five shots. Rejean Beauchemin recorded 22 saves for Allen. Allen totaled 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and two majors and went 1-for-1 on the power play. For Allen, Dylan King was ejected from the game. Texas' Mark Guggenberger stopped 18 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Brahmas ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors.
