The Texas Brahmas gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Evansville IceMen.

Texas gained the winning advantage on a goal by Calin Wild 13:27 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Brahmas were led by Wild, who racked up one goal.

The Texas penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and four majors for 64 minutes in penalty time. The Brahmas had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. The 25 shots that Texas put on net surpassed the Brahmas' average of 16.0 shots per game this season. Texas' defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 11 shots between them.

Texas also got points from Brendon Hodge, who also had one goal and one assist and TJ Fox, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Texas also got a goal from Brock Meadows as well. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Jacques Perreault, Dan Nicholls, Ross Rouleau, and Mike Hellyer, who each chipped in one.

Evansville was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and four majors for 66 minutes in penalty time. The IceMen surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Evansville put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.5 it averages per game.

The IceMen were helped by Matt Pierce, who registered one goal. Pierce scored 5:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Evansville. Karl Linden assisted on the tally. Sean OConnor also scored for Evansville. More assists for Evansville came via Nicklas Lindberg, who had two and Mario Boillard and Steve Makway, who contributed one a piece.

Mark Guggenberger recorded 27 saves for the Brahmas. Texas registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The Brahmas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Hand was ejected from the game. Evansville's Pier-Olivier Pelletier stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The IceMen registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Evansville, Makway was ejected from the game.
