Quad City downs Tulsa in overtime, 4-3 (OT)BOK Center Fri, Mar 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jared Brown gave the Quad City Mallards a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Tulsa Oilers when he scored 22 seconds into the extra period. Quad City was sparked by Brown, who racked up one goal. The Mallards stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Quad City kept the Oilers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Keserich made 31 saves on 35 shots. Quad City additionally got points from Mickey Lang, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jared Lavender also scored for Quad City. In addition, Quad City received assists from Justin Chwedoruk, who had three and Darren McMillan and Justin Hofstetter, who each chipped in one. Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Mallards to score on any of their four power plays. The 38 shots that the Oilers put on net surpassed Tulsa's average of 27.5 shots per game this season. The Oilers were helped by Ryan Cramer, who finished with one goal. Cramer scored 17:19 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Jeff Terminesi provided the assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Tyler Fleck as well. More assists for Tulsa came via Luke Lucyk, Marty Standish, Mike Ullrich, and David Solway, who contributed one a piece. Quad City's David Brown stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Mallards incurred seven minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tulsa incurred 11 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
