Max Beatty, 25 years old, was born in Vancouver, Washington on March 27th, 1991. He attended Pacific Lutheran University and was drafted out of college by the San Diego Padres in the 32nd round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft. 

Beatty played for the Eugene Emeralds, a minor league affiliate of the Padres during the 2013 and 2014 seasons before continuing his career at the independent level. Beatty returns this year for his second season with the Pacifics. Last season, Beatty went 8-2, tying for the league lead in victories, finished second in the league in ERA (3.18) and strikeouts (89), and led the league in the number of complete games (3). He was also awarded the 2015 Pacific Association Pitcher of the Year.
