As a junior on the NC State staff, Peterson compiled a 4.06 ERA in 57.2 innings.  In those innings, Peterson managed to strikeout an impressive 53 hitters.  Being a southpaw, Peterson will be a nightmare matchup for all left-handed hitters in the NECBL.In his sophomore season, Peterson pitched for Temple University, where he started all 12 games in which he appeared.  Finishing the year with a 4.43 ERA over 69 IP, Peterson built a solid foundation for success.
In high School, Peterson tossed a 16-strikeout perfect game.  That season he went 7-1 with a 0.94 ERA, striking out 110 through 56 innings.  He was also awarded First team all-conference and all-state honors.
