Peterson has experience in the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Yankees organizations.
He has two seasons of Triple-A experience and eight seasons at the Double-A level. Peterson also has prior Atlantic League experience, having played for the Bridgeport Bluefish in 2008.
He started the 2013 season in Laredo and hit .289 with 98 hits, 18 doubles, and 47 RBI in 95 games played.
Peterson has a minor league career .276 batting average, 959 hits, 192 doubles, 25 triples, 50 home runs, and 425 RBI in 1,052 games.
