ABOUT: Second summer with the Muskrats, after playing in ten games in the summer of 2010 as a late-season addition. In that span, John hit .387 with two homers and six RBI, though not registering enough plate appearances to qualify for league statistical rankings. That followed John’s sophomore season at Genesee CC in New York, where he hit .370 with 23 RBI in a full season, and was drafted in the 30th round of the 2011 MLB draft by the Cleveland Indians. After careful consideration, he instead accepted a full scholarship to West Virginia, where he hit .306 with 21 RBI, while overcoming a foot injury. John began heating back up just as the Mountaineers season ended, one win shy of the Big East Tournament. That means he’s poised for a hot start to the summer in Laconia.
