Now a freshman at Washington State University, Pistorese enjoyed a decorated career at Flathead High School in Montana. Pistorese was a four year All-State selection at Flathead along with playing American Legion baseball for four years as well. Pistorese has thrown four no-hitters in his career, including one of them in a nine inning effort. In a game in his 2011 state tournament, Pistorese struck out 21 batters. This past season for Washington St, Pistorese went 4-3 with a 2.44 ERA in 66.1 innings pitched (12 starts).
