A member of the 2008 National Champion Fresno State Bulldogs, sophomore outfielder Trent Soares looks to improve upon last years .235 average. Soares did have seven multi-hit games though, including three 3-hit games in only 29 contests. The versatile left-hander made five starts in left field, 20 in center, and four in right. Soares had a pair of hits, including a big eighth inning home run during the team’s eventual game-three loss in the NWL Championship Series to the Thunder Bay Border Cats. As of May 16 Soares was hitting .159 with two home runs, five RBIs, and a .345 on-base percentage.
