Miller emerged as a shutdown reliever in his first season at Vanderbilt and will be used in a similar role with the Newport Gulls this summer. Miller made 28 appearances (one start) and was 0-2 with a 3.44 ERA, four saves, and 42 strikeouts in 49.2 innings of work as a freshman this spring.
In high school, Miller was named the 2011 Mid-State Player of the Year, District MVP, and to the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team. In 2010, Miller was named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team and was the District Right-Handed Pitcher of the Year. A dual-sport athlete, Miller was also a two-time All-District basketball player and team captain.
