Coffman is a versatile outfielder who saw his playing time increase significantly as a sophomore at Arizona State. Coffman appeared in a career-high 41 games, starting 37 of them, batting .215 (26-for-121) with 21 runs scored, five doubles, nine RBI and 11 stolen bases.
In the summer of 2011, Coffman played in 42 games for the Okotoks Dawgs of the Western Major Baseball League, batting .364 (52-for-143) with 35 runs scored, three doubles, two triples, five home runs, 31 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
As a freshman, Coffman appeared in three games, all as a pinch-hitter, and was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Coffman attended Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona, where he earned three varsity letters in baseball and one in football. Coffman was a baseball team captain during his senior season and earned All-Region honors in his junior and senior years.
