Played for three different teams, including Hagerstown. Split time between independent league teams Evansville and Gary where he posted a 4.87 ERA with a record of 6-8 in 27 appearances.

Drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 40th round in 2007...Went 10-4 as a senior at the University of Evansville in Indiana. In 15 games started, he posted a 2.76 ERA amidst 97 innings pitched. During that span, he allowed 111 hits and struck out 43 batters. He threw one complete game and allowed just two home runs his senior year. Named Missouri Valley Conference All-Star Starting Pitcher.
