The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (50-38) pounded the Edinburg Roadrunners (54-35) on Monday 9-1 at Harlingen Field.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings scored four runs in the eighth on an RBI double by James Mays, a two-run triple by Leugim Barroso, and an RBI single by Romulo Ruiz.

Barroso racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings.

Celson Polanco picked up the win for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. Polanco pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out six.

Ryan Smith (3-6) took the loss for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
