The Fort Worth Cats make the most of 9 hits in 4-2 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings

Both the Fort Worth Cats (8-3) and the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (6-5) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Fort Worth Cats that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-2 win at LaGrave Field.

John Dziomba had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and fifth innings.

The Fort Worth Cats relied on Trevor Harden to eat up innings en route to the win. Harden pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, eight hits and no walks while striking out five.

Fidel Hernandez was solid at the plate for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. Hernandez went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.

Geovawy Reyes (1-1) took the loss for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

Brandon Jones, Dziomba and Jose Ruiz helped lead the Fort Worth Cats. They combined for six hits and three RBIs.
