The San Angelo Colts fend off the Fort Worth Cats' late push, hold on 5-3

The Fort Worth Cats (30-23) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the San Angelo Colts (26-28), and the Fort Worth Cats lost 5-3 to the San Angelo Colts after falling behind by four runs in the seventh inning.

The Fort Worth Cats scored on a triple by Randall Thorpe and an RBI triple by Thorpe in the eighth inning and a solo home run by Jose Ruiz in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Fort Worth Cats couldn't finish the comeback.

Landon Camp racked up two RBIs on one hit for the San Angelo Colts. He homered in the sixth innings.

The San Angelo Colts relied on Mike Hart to eat up innings en route to the win. Hart allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Fort Worth Cats' Ruiz. Ruiz went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run.

Blake Parry (3-1) took the loss for the Fort Worth Cats. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
