Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the IGA SOFTBALL (17-4) outscored the ISLAND Knights(weeknight (14-8) 18-11 in seven innings.

The two teams combined for 39 hits in the game.

The IGA SOFTBALL blew out the ISLAND Knights(weeknight thanks to 23 hits, including zero extra base hits. The IGA SOFTBALL scored six runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Ryan Shaffer, an RBI single by Rich Glock, a sacrifice fly by Jay Gouge, an RBI single by Jay Petitie, and an RBI single by Frank Sousa.

Petitie got a hit in each of his five at bats.

Mike Naclerio had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Charlie Frey got his eleventh win for the IGA SOFTBALL despite allowing 11 runs over seven innings. Frey struck out four, walked one and gave up 16 hits.

Joe Maggio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 18 runs in seven innings, walked six and struck out four.

The IGA SOFTBALL hammered the ISLAND Knights(weeknight pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 22 hits, 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
