The Filthy Bastards (15-9) had a tough outing on Thursday, as the TFA Comets (14-10) dominated in an 11-5 win in seven innings at Airport #1.
The TFA Comets scored five runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Mike Polinice, a two-run single by Robbie Granata, an RBI single by Greg Flannery, and an RBI single by Nick Dangelo.
Granata racked up two RBIs on three hits for the TFA Comets.
The Filthy Bastards were led by a flawless day at the dish by Bobby Belonzi, who went 3-3 against the TFA Comets' pitching. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.
Even though Kevin Buttigieg allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered 14 hits.
Belonzi couldn't get it done on the bump for the Filthy Bastards, taking a loss. He allowed 11 runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out none.
