The Gaza Strip Club (13-5) shut the door early on the Ghost Whipes (11-5), capturing a 14-4 victory on Monday at East Islip Marina Field #4.

The game was decided quickly as the Gaza Strip Club exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.

A sacrifice fly by Chris Gehsan, a two-run double by John Laba, an RBI double by Bryan Weymand, an RBI triple by Anthony Alonzo, an RBI single by Steve Darienzo, and a two-run single by John Romano during the second inning fueled the Gaza Strip Club's offense early.

Laba racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Gaza Strip Club.

Steve Cella racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Ghost Whipes. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Stan Balsky improved to 6-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Gaza Strip Club. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered 12 hits.

The Gaza Strip Club easily handled the Ghost Whipes pitching as eight hitters combined for 18 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

Mike Sierzputowski was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 14 runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out none.
