A superb effort by Jeff Hertz carried the Knights (10-13) to a 16-7 win in seven innings over the Grandmas Boys (5-16) on Sunday at East Islip Marina Field #1.

Hertz racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Knights. He homered in the first and fourth innings and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Knights to easily put away the Grandmas Boys. A two-run triple by Rick Casher, a two-run home run by Hertz, an RBI single by Justin Lander, an RBI single by Matt Lander, and an RBI single by Jay Falquecee in the first inning and an RBI single by Hertz and an RBI single by Leo Rojas during the second inning helped the Knights put some runs on the board early.

Jerry Ianone racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Grandmas Boys. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Shane Helfner got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Nick Prisco (4-5) took the loss for the Grandmas Boys. He allowed 16 runs in seven innings, walked five and struck out none.
