The SIMPLY GREEN (5-7) trailed by 11 in the third, but Frank Iavarone was able to capture the lead back with a ground out in the sixth, spurring the SIMPLY GREEN to a 16-15 win in seven innings over the EMPIRE FACILITIES (2-13) at East Islip Marina Field #1 on Wednesday.

With the score tied at 15 in the sixth inning, grounded out, scoring Jimmy Smith.

Iavarone had a hot bat for the SIMPLY GREEN. Iavarone went 4-6, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the first, second, third, and fifth innings.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 31 runs and 44 hits, including zero extra base hits.

Jay Stehl racked up five RBIs on two hits for the SIMPLY GREEN. He singled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Gary Patanjo recorded his third win for the SIMPLY GREEN even though he allowed 15 runs over seven innings. Patanjo struck out one, walked four and gave up 25 hits.

Brooklyn Fields was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 16 runs in six innings, walked eight and struck out none.

The SIMPLY GREEN pounded the EMPIRE FACILITIES pitching, as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
