The Broderick Express (6-15) had a tough outing on Sunday, as the Cobra Kai (20-1) dominated in a 19-7 win in five innings at Broadway Ave Park.
The Cobra Kai scored nine runs in the third on a three-run home run by FRANK OCONNOR, an RBI single by SAL GARCIA, a fielder's choice, a three-run home run by JON EGGERS, and a sacrifice fly by JOHN MUSHMACHER.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with five lead changes.
EGGERS racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Cobra Kai.
Steve Munoz paced the Broderick Express at the plate. Munoz went 2-2 and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.
Even though James Esposito allowed seven runs over five innings he still recorded the victory. Esposito struck out one, walked one and gave up 15 hits.
Andrew Cucciniello ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eleventh loss of the year. He allowed 19 runs in five innings, walked five and struck out none.
The Cobra Kai hammered the Broderick Express pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 22 hits, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
