The LAGNAF (13-10) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the TBDs (15-6), recording a 16-5 victory on Saturday at Veterans.
With nine runs in the first three innings, the LAGNAF left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run double by Rob Gerdts, an RBI double by Michael Gibson, and a two-run single by Kali Kuhl during the first inning helped the LAGNAF put some runs on the board early.Gerdts racked up six RBIs on four hits for the LAGNAF.
Obie Fernandez went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the TBDs. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Even though Matty Schwartz allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. Schwartz struck out one, walked one and gave up 12 hits.
Mike Dolly (9-5) took the loss for the TBDs. He allowed 16 runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out none.
The LAGNAF hammered the TBDs pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
