Monday was a great day for Chris Mcwade, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Top Shelf (9-9) to a 23-11 victory over the Got Money two (2-14) at Dowling College in five innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 34 runs and 44 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Fifteen runs in the first three innings helped the Top Shelf blow out the Got Money two. A two-run home run by Mcwade, an RBI double by Ryan Mcdonough, an RBI single by Billy Hinderliter, an RBI single by Jay Stehl, and an RBI single by Keith Miller in the first inning and a two-run single by Gary Patanjo, a sacrifice fly by Mcdonough, an RBI double by Stehl, a two-run single by Tom Doram, a two-run home run by Miller, and an RBI double by Joe Goller during the second inning fueled the Top Shelf's offense early.
Matt Iacono racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Got Money two. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Patanjo got his second win for the Top Shelf despite allowing 11 runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered 17 hits.
Tony Lazaridis couldn't get it done on the mound for the Got Money two, taking a loss. He allowed 23 runs in four innings, walked eight and struck out none.
The Top Shelf hammered the Got Money two pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 25 hits, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
