Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Monday as the Lily Flanagans DCconnect (11-7) outscored the LI Storm CO-ED one (17-2) 12-11 in seven innings.

The two teams combined for 40 hits in the game.

The Lily Flanagans DCconnect staved off the LI Storm CO-ED one as the LI Storm CO-ED one were unable to match the Lily Flanagans DCconnect down the stretch.

The LI Storm CO-ED one scored on an RBI single by Rob Gerdts in the third inning, an RBI triple by Danielle Rega and an RBI double by Chris Ferrara in the fourth inning, a solo home run by Gerdts, an RBI single by Matt Durant, a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Ferrara, and an RBI single by Sean Becoff in the fifth inning, and a sacrifice fly by Becoff in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the LI Storm CO-ED one couldn't get over the hump.

Bill Cates racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Lily Flanagans DCconnect. He singled in the first and second innings and homered in the fourth inning.

Scott Greene got his eighth win for the Lily Flanagans DCconnect despite allowing 11 runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered 21 hits.

Timothy Flanagan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
