John Riley brought home the go-ahead run to give the LI COORS CREW (6-13) the lead in the eighth inning, as the LI COORS CREW hung on to beat the Purple Cobras (9-10) 6-5 on Saturday.
James Mangiori doubled to start the eighth. He then went from second to third on a single by Kevin Sulz. Finally, Riley came to the plate with the score tied at five in the eighth inning, and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Mangiori.Riley racked up two RBIs on two hits for the LI COORS CREW. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
The LI COORS CREW's Sulz was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the third, fifth, and eighth innings.
Frank DiGrigono went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Purple Cobras. He singled in the first and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
Mangiori got his second win for the LI COORS CREW despite allowing five runs over eight innings. Mangiori struck out none, walked none and gave up 17 hits.
Walter Bonilla (9-6) took the loss for the Purple Cobras. He allowed six runs in eight innings, walked none and struck out none.
