The Excel Aire1 (14-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the nemesis (6-8), recording a 16-7 victory on Sunday at :Firemens Field In Lindenhurst.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Excel Aire1 to put the game away early.

A groundout by Ray Zimmerman in the first inning and an RBI single by Frank Petry and a home run by Tim Byrne during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Excel Aire1.

Byrne had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

It was a good day at the plate for the nemesis' Joe Iovine. Iovine went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Anthony Procoplo got his tenth win for the Excel Aire1 despite allowing seven runs over seven innings. Procoplo struck out none, walked none and gave up 15 hits.

Bob Nipper couldn't get it done on the hill for the nemesis, taking a loss. He allowed 16 runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out none.

The Excel Aire1 hammered the nemesis pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
