A magnificent effort by Joe Izzo hoisted the MCI three (6-1) to a 14-2 win in seven innings over the knighthawks (2-5) on Tuesday at Sylvan Field.
Izzo blasted two home runs for the MCI three. Izzo went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Izzo homered in the second and seventh innings.
Five runs in the first three innings helped the MCI three blow out the knighthawks. A three-run home run by Izzo in the second inning supplied the early offense for the MCI three.
Manny Mercado picked up the win for the MCI three. Mercado allowed no earned runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out one over seven innings of work.
Jeff Hanlon ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed 14 runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out none.
The MCI three pounded the knighthawks pitching, as seven hitters combined for 20 hits, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
