The Newark Bears fend off the New Jersey Jackals' late push, hold on 9-7

The New Jersey Jackals (49-36) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Newark Bears (29-56), and the New Jersey Jackals lost 9-7 to the Newark Bears after falling behind by seven runs in the sixth inning.

The New Jersey Jackals scored on an RBI single by Nick Giarraputo in the sixth inning, an RBI single by Angel Berroa in the seventh inning, and a three-run single by Matt Nandin, a triple by Chris Henderson, , and a double by Berroa in the eighth inning. Still, the New Jersey Jackals couldn't catch the Newark Bears.

Quentin Davis racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Newark Bears. He singled in the first and sixth innings and tripled in the eighth inning.

Henderson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Jersey Jackals.

Greg Lane recorded his third win of the year for the Newark Bears. He allowed two runs over six innings. Lane struck out two, walked two and gave up six hits.

Craig Clark couldn't get it done on the mound for the New Jersey Jackals, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
