Things looked bleak for the New Jersey Jackals (33-24) when they trailed by one run in the ninth inning, but the New Jersey Jackals recovered thanks to a key two-run home run in the ninth inning from Nick Salotti to pull out an 8-7 win over the Worcester Tornadoes (17-40) at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.
With the New Jersey Jackals trailing by one, Salotti came to the plate and homered, scoring Francisco Caraballo.
Salotti racked up three RBIs on three hits for the New Jersey Jackals. He singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Ryan Brockett racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Worcester Tornadoes. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jeff Gogal improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the New Jersey Jackals. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Nick Serino was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
