The New Jersey Jackals offense too much for the Newark Bears in 14-5 rout

The New Jersey Jackals (27-21) shut the door early on the Newark Bears (16-34), capturing a 14-5 victory on Friday at Bears_Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the New Jersey Jackals to put the game away early.

A solo home run by Angel Berroa and a solo home run by Matt Cusick in the first inning and a two-run home run by Francisco Caraballo, , and a sacrifice fly by Bryan Sabatella during the second inning helped the New Jersey Jackals put some runs on the board early.

Cusick blasted two home runs for the New Jersey Jackals. Cusick went 2-5 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Cusick homered in the seventh innings.

Alex Bardeguez was hot from the plate for the Newark Bears. Bardeguez went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.

Steve Fox got the win, running his season record to 7-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Pedro Rivera ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none.

The New Jersey Jackals pounded the Newark Bears pitching, as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
