The Worcester outdone by Berroa and the New Jersey, 5-2

Angel Berroa had two extra base hits, sparking the New Jersey (8-3) to a 5-2 victory over the Worcester (5-7) on Friday at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

He doubled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Jon Kibler picked up the win for the New Jersey. Kibler pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three.

Kyle Regnault pitched lights out for the Worcester. Regnault held the New Jersey hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Ryan Bicondoa (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.

Steve Caseres, Berroa and Jeff Lanning helped lead the New Jersey. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
