The Lincoln need walk-off single to beat the New Jersey, 14-13

A walk-off single from John Alonso brought home the winning run for the Lincoln in a 14-13 victory over the New Jersey (8-4) at Haymarket Park on Saturday.

Alonso racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Lincoln. He homered in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Leivi Ventura hit two home runs for the Lincoln. Ventura went 2-4 in the game with three RBIs and four runs scored. Ventura homered in the second and sixth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 27 total runs and 33 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using nine pitchers in total.

Pete Parise got the win for the Lincoln. He allowed two runs over two innings. Parise struck out four, walked none and gave up two hits.

Jake Hale ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
