The Sioux Falls Pheasants survive the Lincoln Saltdogs rally, escape with 8-6 victory

The Lincoln Saltdogs (41-59) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Sioux Falls Pheasants (45-55), and the Lincoln Saltdogs lost 8-6 to the Sioux Falls Pheasants after falling behind by four runs in the third inning.

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored on a solo home run by David Espinosa in the third inning and a three-run home run by Stephen Holdren in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't finish the comeback.

Cristian Guerrero racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Sioux Falls Pheasants. He singled in the second, third, and fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Espinosa got on base three times in the game for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He scored one run and had one RBI.

Mark Michael recorded his seventh win of the year for the Sioux Falls Pheasants. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Wade Mackey (6-4) took the loss for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked four and struck out one.
