A magnificent effort by Tyler Herron carried the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (58-29) to a 4-0 win over the Rockland Boulders on Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.
Herron's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks past the Rockland Boulders. The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks' pitcher gave up just three hits over seven shutout innings.
Ryan Delgado pushed the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Zach Penprase singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a single by Ryan Stovall. Finally, Delgado came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and was hit by a pitch, bringing home Penprase.
Penprase paced the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at the plate. Penprase went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.
Pat Moran ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed one run.
