The Winnipeg Goldeyes (46-31) pounded the Wichita Wingnuts (45-33) on Thursday 7-1 at Shaw Park.
A three-run home run by Yurendell de Caster delivered the runs in the seventh. The Winnipeg Goldeyes had three hits in the inning.
De Caster racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
The Wichita Wingnuts had no answer for Brian Beuning, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Beuning held the Wichita Wingnuts hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Zach Baldwin got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. Baldwin struck out four, walked one and gave up five hits.
Ryan Hinson was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked none and struck out three.
