Ole Sheldon brought home the go-ahead run to give the St Paul Saints (23-25) the lead in the sixth inning, as the St Paul Saints hung on to beat the Sioux City Explorers (23-28) 3-1 on Monday.

With the score tied at one, Sheldon came to the plate and doubled, scoring Willie Cabrera.

Miles Durham went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the St Paul Saints. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Anthony Claggett baffled the Sioux City Explorers, striking out four batters. Claggett allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks over five innings.

Reid Mahon got the win, running his season record to 3-4. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Nick Schumacher ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
