The Sioux City Explorers hang on against the Gary SouthShore RailCats, 4-2

The Gary SouthShore RailCats (17-29) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Sioux City Explorers (21-26), and the Gary SouthShore RailCats lost 4-2 to the Sioux City Explorers after falling behind by four runs in the fifth inning.

The Gary SouthShore RailCats scored on an RBI single by Mike Rohde in the seventh inning and a solo home run by Rohde in the ninth inning. Still, the Gary SouthShore RailCats couldn't catch the Sioux City Explorers.

Ryan Priddy paced the Sioux City Explorers at the plate. Priddy went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

The Sioux City Explorers relied on Richard Salazar to eat up innings en route to the win. Salazar allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out five over eight innings of work.

Rohde racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Will Krout couldn't get it done on the bump for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
