Rusch leads the Winnipeg to 4-3 victory thanks to 9 strikeouts

Story by Narrative Science.

A superb effort by Matthew Rusch led the Winnipeg (16-6) to a 4-3 win over the Fargo-Moorhead on Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.

Rusch's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Winnipeg past the Fargo-Moorhead (9-14). The Winnipeg's pitcher gave up just three hits over eight shutout innings.

The Winnipeg staved off the Fargo-Moorhead as the Fargo-Moorhead were unable to match the Winnipeg down the stretch.

The Fargo-Moorhead scored three runs in the ninth on a two-run double by Ryan Delgado and an RBI single by Sergio Pedroza. Unfortunately, the Fargo-Moorhead weren't able to take the lead back.

Price Kendall had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and fifth innings.

Tyler Herron (0-2) took the loss for the Fargo-Moorhead. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
