An exceptional effort by Cat Osterman carried the USSSA Pride (17-11) to a 9-0 win over the Chicago Bandits on Thursday at ESPN Wide World.
The USSSA Pride's Osterman kept the Chicago Bandits (16-13) off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out seven.
The USSSA Pride blew out the Chicago Bandits thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The USSSA Pride scored three runs in the fourth on a solo home run by Andrea Duran and a two-run home run by Kristyn Sandberg.
Duran reached base three times. She scored two runs and had one RBI.
Nikki Nemitz was charged with her sixth loss of the year. She lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
