A great effort by Daryl Thompson led the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (68-70) to a 7-2 win over the Lancaster Barnstormers (87-51) on Friday at Regency Furniture Stadium.
Thompson held the Lancaster Barnstormers scoreless for seven innings. Thompson struck out seven and allowed no walks and two hits.
Mike Daniel put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He doubled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Dwayne Pollok (14-4) took the loss for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' Jesse Gutierrez, Daniel and Brian Barton combined for six hits and four RBIs.
