Mike McGuire hopes every outing could go as well as Thursday, as McGuire threw seven scoreless innings to carry the Camden Riversharks (28-31) to a 6-0 victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (27-33) at Campbells Field.
The Camden Riversharks blew out the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run double by Alvin Colina helped the Camden Riversharks score two runs in the third. The Camden Riversharks had three hits in the inning.
Chris Walker had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning, homered in the sixth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
David Jones was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The Camden Riversharks were sparked by Eduardo Perez and Walker, who teamed up for seven hits and two RBIs.
