Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Camden Riversharks come from behind to beat the Somerset Patriots, 4-3

Story by Narrative Science.

The Camden Riversharks (12-14) trailed by three in the eighth, but the Camden Riversharks recovered thanks to a key solo blast in the ninth inning from Drew Macias to pull out a 4-3 win over the Somerset Patriots (13-13) at TD Bank Ballpark on Thursday.

With the score tied at three, Macias came to the plate and homered.

Macias had two extra-base hits for the Camden Riversharks. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the eighth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.

The Somerset Patriots had no answer for Joe DAlessandro, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. DAlessandro held the Somerset Patriots hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

Jesse Hoorelbeke reached base three times. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Mike Mehlich got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Mehlich struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Josh Rupe ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

Neither team scored until the fourth when the Somerset Patriots got on the board. The Somerset Patriots scored on a two-run single by Aaron Mathews.

The game's last lead went to the Camden Riversharks thanks to a ninth inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on a solo home run by Macias.
