The Medicine Hat Mavericks hang on against the Weyburn Beavers, 8-7

The Weyburn Beavers (8-15) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Medicine Hat Mavericks (15-7), and the Weyburn Beavers lost 8-7 to the Medicine Hat Mavericks after falling behind by five runs in the seventh inning.

The Weyburn Beavers scored on a three-run home run by Jon Neuberger in the eighth inning and an error and a groundout by Dalton Silva in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Weyburn Beavers couldn't finish the comeback.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks' Ben Smith was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the first and third innings and tripled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Neuberger racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Weyburn Beavers.

Billy Martin recorded his fourth win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks even though he allowed six runs over 7 2/3 innings. Martin struck out nine, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Kurtis McCallum couldn't get it done on the mound for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked four and struck out two.
